How We Are Different

There are several key differences between Dr. Vliet’s medical practice, Vive! Life Center, and most other “hormone” doctors:

First, is the detailed medical evaluation that includes in-depth history, physical exam, metabolic blood tests, hormone blood tests, and other specialized lab studies to get to the underlying causes of symptoms so that a definitive, individualized treatment plan can be developed. With a background in Preventive and Internal Medicine, Psychopharmacology/Psychiatry, Pain Management, Stress management, and Wellness approaches, Dr. Vliet brings a depth of medical training and clinical experience to the evaluation to patients with complex hormone problems not typically found in other medical practices. She has also been a patient…and understands firsthand how frightening it can be when something is wrong with your body and you keep getting told “Everything’s normal!”

Second, the amount of time that Dr. Vliet spends with each person – typically one and a half to two hours with each new patient and an hour or more reviewing past and current medical records and developing individualized recommendations for treatment.

Third, is the medical privacy that is possible with Dr. Vliet’s practice. Because we do not file electronic insurance claims, your medical records are never sent to anyone but YOU (unless there is a court order in a criminal case). Then you decide what personal information you want released to any third parties, such as insurance plans, other doctors, etc. Our consultative offices are designed so that we don’t have a large number of people in the reception area – appointments are scheduled for only one person (or couple, or family) at a time.
